What it does
Cutting audio is the most ordinary editing job there is — a ringtone, a clip for a video, an intro trimmed off a voice memo, eight bars to sample — and it is absurd that the usual route involves uploading a forty-megabyte file to a stranger’s server, waiting, and downloading it back.
This does it where the file already is. Your browser decodes the audio, draws the waveform, and writes out the selection you drag. Nothing is transmitted, so there is no upload wait, no queue, no account, and no question about how long a copy sits on someone else’s disk.
The output is a real audio file, not a preview: WAV if you want it lossless, MP3 at your choice of bitrate if you want it small. There is also a fade control, because a cut made mid-waveform clicks, and fifty milliseconds of fade makes that disappear without being audible as a fade.

What you get
Every other cutter on the first page of results sends your file to a server first. This one does not — which makes it faster on a big file and the only sensible option for anything you would rather not hand over.
You can see where the verse starts. Dragging to a visible edge is faster and more accurate than typing 00:47.3 and checking whether you guessed right.
Slicing through the middle of a waveform leaves a step in the signal, and a step is a click. A few milliseconds of fade at each edge removes it and is far too short to hear as a fade.

No. That is the main difference between this and the cutters that rank above it. The audio is decoded, displayed and cut by your own browser, and the download comes from memory on your machine. There is no copy anywhere to worry about.
